Close but yours I think, are rubber, and the EDGE Flares are a hard plastic maybe fiberglass, AND if this is correct, the EDGE Flares will take paint easier.

I think the EDGE Flares have one smooth clean line from top to bottom and will blend in easier to the overall mono-white paint job.

Just me thinking out loud again.

Only problem is finding a set and making sure you get the clips in good condition; I have been looking or the Flare Clips for a while without success.

The Edge flares are plastic. ABS if I had to guess.

The Edge flare clips are easy to find. At least they were for my 2001 Edge. I got a bag of 50 on Ebay for a good price. I just measured the holes in the fenders/bedsides and chose the right size of "Christmas tree fastener" on Ebay.

Also, when I was painting the flares, I scuffed them heavily since I was using bedliner, and then cleaned them well with bug/tar/wax remover, and I still had several little spots that nearly refused to take paint. It kept peeling away. It was almost like the plastic was excreting a small amount of oil or something. I ended up scraping the surface in those areas with a razor blade, using a method like you'd use to remove paraffin wax from windows. I went way past the original paint and in to the plastic, and they finally took paint well.
