I might try to do this shifter kit today but I'm still waiting on a shifter knob to come in, but not sure if it's the right one. I took apart a shifter in the salvage yard today just to see what it takes. It seems fairly easy. A little akward getting out the old pins if they're kind stuck. I didn't have a punch with me but was able to get the ones out in the salvage yard pretty quick. When I took it apart in the salvage yard I didn't see any bushing left, but saw a spring washer at the bottom where the bushing should be. Didn't see any of the dust seals that came with the kit. So should there only be one spring washer? Are those bushings, keyed? The new bushings have notches in the bottom, maybe so they only go in one way, and then they have the cut out for the pins. Another part missing on ours was the shifter knob. I went looking for one but every Ranger there that had 5 speed was missing. I ordered a new one but it's the new style all black one for the 04+ Rangers. Will it still fit?
