$675 or shop for a new truck? A new truck can have new problems too. If you think you'll enjoy your ranger long enough to justify the repairs I'd go that route. If you think its gonna break down again soon and cause you more grief and a lot more money I'd think about letting it go. Lots of people dont have the money to upgrade when they replace their vehicles so they end up on a downgrade spiral. repairing what you have is sometimes your best option even if its expensive it's better than buying another problem that you dont know and usually cheaper than replacing it. I'm biased. Up here in the Pacific north west rangers are either expensive or worn out. You can pay 8-12k for a lower mile (80k miles) nice one or 2k for a beat up 200k mile one. The thing you are finding out about these rangers is that if you have some aptitude they are not to hard to fix and there are lots of them.
