When I did the axle change/gear change/lift... I went to 4.56 gears, my friends said 4.88 will get you better performance but I stuck to my guns and decided it would be better wit the 4.56s. Well, if I did it again I just might go 4.88s; with 33" tires and 5-sp. it is good, but it could be a little better and I think the 4.88s would have done it. Yes rpms would be up but the throttle response would be a little better, seat of the pants stuff ! But not enough to change thing around, front and rear, but something to think about, if I was starting again ! Sound like this should be a great truck when completed. Let me know what your mileage is, I'm interested ! Ltr
