Hey everyone! So. When my dad and I originally built Tonto. We equipped him with a 7.5†Ford Rear Axle with 4.10s. While they move the 33s beautifully. It's slower than molasses. I plan on upgrading to 35s with 15x12s. A little much for the 7.5 to handle. So I am doing what my dad should have originally done. Getting the 8.8. The only issue. The only one I've found with lower gearing is an 8.8 with 4.56 gears. Perfect right? Well. They have 10†drums instead of 9â€. Stupid question I'm sure. But would Bolting the axle in and running it be fine with the new brake upgrade?? Just making sure before I spend $825 on a complete axle.
