- Not to be condescending, find out the weights of the tires and the wheels you like, maybe a few of them, then start your comparison. Without exact weights it is hard to say which weighs more aluminum or rubber. As black06xlt stated, every manufacturer has its own thicknesses to work with, Super Swampers will weigh more than BFG All Terrains. then you need to consider is the wheel made from Steel, cast or forged aluminum, or some other metal, which one weight more per size, ask the manufacturer; they will be the only ones to know. As I stated, I think, most street wheels and all terrain tires will weigh in so close you won't really need to pick anything more than which one you like ! Start your list, the longer you wait, the longer I will have to wait to find out this info.
