I love the Rivian!!!
My favorite part of the electric vehicle movement is THE POWER BILLS!
Okay so you are not putting fuel in your vehicles tank..... you are using fuel at a power plant 1000 miles away instead!
I mean its not like these things are being charged by solar and micro hydro systems at your home. Whats next electric vehicle charging lots? Do you pay by the hour or by the watt? Who pays to charge these things?
I would LOVE to see the power bill for your home in So Cal after running the AC all summer and now charging your Tesla 3-5 times a week!!
Nobody ever seems to mention the cost or source of power it takes to recharge the batteries
Plus the impact the battery banks have on the environment in the long term...seems a prius leaves a larger scar on the planet then a 4 door 4x4 tahoe? Because of the process it takes to build and dispose of the battery bank.
Now with that said I think electric motors and batteries are awesome, I would love to have a 4wd rzr that can go 400 miles between charges. Electric motor = instant torque. Electric rzr = silent and no emissions, maybe they would finally allow rzr's out in the streets AND wilderness instead of just on federally mandated UTV trails.....
