I did some googling and I found a couple old threads from other forums where it states that you need to step down the 12v power to 5v for USB as 12v may damage your phone or device. Looking at the one on the right in the above pic shows that 5v on it. So is this essential or no? I've found converters that are relatively inexpensive, but if the one on the right has that already built in I may just go with that instead of the OEM option, plus there's 2 ports, I can use one for my phone and the other for my Ipod hopefully. Can one of the USB ports on the right also be hooked up to a radio for Ipod use? I'm going with an aftermarket unit. Also where did you source yours from JAMMAN?
