That red ranger I bought and sold during summer had aftermarket lenses and LED's, I think the housings were meant for regular bulbs. My night visibility was way enhanced but I'm sure oncoming traffic had a different opinion.

It was to me "embarrassingly bright" I wouldn't turn them on in the driveway if I was point outward until I got on the road in fear of waking my aging neighbors by enhancing their living room through the curtains.

But boy could you see stuff in front of you on the road!

Gray area for sure. I get Jeeps at night behind me when I'm driving my wife's CRV that light up my face via rear view mirror. It doesn't bother me, I don't slam on the brakes or honk my horn I just think "silly kids" and carry on.

I don't think it is dangerous just annoying somewhat.
