I almost forgot The DTRS (digital transmission range sensor) in the 4r70w CHANGED in 98 also 96-97 are analog signal to pcm 98-05 are digital signal to pcm So you will want to use the dtrs from your 96-97 PCM if you choose to use the 98+ trans in those trucks 96-97 PCM: 5 wire mas 3 wire CPS analog instrument cluster analog DTRS no PATS 98-01 PCM 7 wire MAS (IAC now inside mas sensor body) 2 wire CPS (cps gets ground from grey/red sensor signal return wire) digital instrument cluster/gages digital DTRS PATS Some changes were 98.5..... at same time as returnless fuel, cast manifolds, etc 96-97 4r70w solenoid wiring: ![]() 98-01 4r70w wiring (close enough): ![]() Last edited on Sun Nov 4th, 2018 11:39 am by 410customs ____________________ I build custom RBV, specializing in drivetrain conversions, wiring, suspension and complete custom trucks |
