I think he did! Hey Welcome to F-R and I personally have replaced I think 4 in the past couple years. I was not able in all 4 cases to separate the plug from the resistor! I'm amazed you got it off, but the resistor was bad and you saw rust on the contacts on the INSIDE of the resistor where the coils were then the corrosion has migrated up the terminals in to the wire. When you get a new harness and another resistor as a package cut the wires more than an inch away from the old plug to get rid of the corroded part.
