I removed the plastic panel underside of the dash below the steering column. If you put your head under the column ( mine was white) it looks like an old radio tuner dial. Here is an image of an explorer prndl adjuster. It is in the upper right side of the picture. It's the black piece sandwiched between 2 white things. Lol just above the off white box. You adjust it just like tuning an old radio. Sometimes these are broken from throwing it into park too hard or fast.
