So how come the fill hole was higher on the replacement cover?  Aftermarket or alternate fit?
It's a "SOLID" brand cast cover. When I bought it, I knew that I may need to actually measure the fluid for the diff instead of just pouring it in till its full, and I did that when I installed the cover. But in my pre-trip rush, that rational thinking went out the window for a minute  haha

The sparetire mount looks awesome. Is it as you envisioned?
Thanks!     Pretty much, yea. I'm very happy with the way it turned out. I still want to mount a jerry to the tire gate, but am not sure how I want to go about it yet.

I have seen Jerry cans that mount on the spare tire.

You have far more trail time than I and I'm sure you've seen lots of different set ups and have something cool in mind. But I think this is kinda cool. Might not be big enough to be useful
