The rear of the std cab sits higher than the ex cab but that's about all. The camera was closer to the short one I can assure you it is the same overall dims except the length.
Short one is 112" wheelbase
Long one is 126"
So yes optical illusion
Standard cab must be from texas...... where everything's bigger. Lol
