The dorman shifter fix kit with new nylon bushings and top cover is the ticket!
Make sure you put trans in N, then remove shift lever, install new parts (you have to press metal pin out a bit) and bolt lever back down with trans still in N
Every 5 speed I do gets new a shifter kit......
