Not a joke- truck drivers (which I'm not- I just have a license to drive them) are required to inspect their truck before driving it to make sure it's safe. When you take the CDL (commercial driver's license) test, you're required to demonstrate to the inspector that you know what to look for. One of the things you're supposed to tell him is that you're checking to make sure the dual tires aren't touching one another, because that would be a safety hazard and you shouldn't drive the truck that way.
