I'm not sure if this will interest anyone on here, but feel free to ask any questions. I had enough of the steering whine and swapped a Saginaw power steering pump in the truck. I know this is more an issue for some people than others. I had been through a motorcraft and a few aftermarket pumps and have always had a terrible whine when turning. It took a lot of research and to find a pump, pulley and power steering hose that all worked together for the truck. I ended up making two adapters to mount the pump to the bracket which I cut and grinded up to fit the larger pump and reservoir. I had a shop put a new fitting on the pressure line to fit into the new pump. Not all the prettiest but strong and functional. I had plenty of unforeseen issues along the way, took a few weeks to find the time and parts to get it together but so glad I did. I ended up needing a longer belt as well. After getting the air bled out of the system, it's nearly silent in all situations. I've driven it probably 10 times since and went wheeling for a couple hours to put some stress on it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
