My wife did 31 years in public schools. The last 20 in a upper middle class area. She had more problems there than when she was teaching rural, less-privileged students the first 11 years. Teaching was not a job to her, she had the "calling" for being a teacher. She did not enjoy her last 3 years teaching in public schools because of the kids attitudes, they have gone to . She still teaches but part-time at a historical site.
