Reason this is happening can be summed up quickly....it's because, it's what society wants, society created this and keeps it alive. Same can be said about the people living on the streets with mental health problems, drug addiction/dependency, and frequently, both problems. We call them *homeless*, probably because such a cuddly word won't discourage sympathetic enabler.....oops, I mean, donor from giving them the means to live the lifestyle that they choose.

I have friends who have been educators all their lives, some crossing the 40 year mark. Their positions vary from teachers (K-12) to Superintendent to administrators. Their hands are tied because.....we have created and funded what society wants. Kids in kindergarten today telling teacher to "fUuckk you", "fUuckk off ashhole/bitccccch", running around the room tearing things off the walls. Single moms on welfare with kids who have come to kindergarten having never met their father, much less even know they have one. Again, this is what society wants and pays for it. Probably the best we as a society can to today is to fund capacity increases for jails and prisons. Besides, today they are the new mental health facilities all across America except for one small detail...........They were never set up to be mental health facilties and nobody wants to pay to treat the nuts locked up inside.
