If you don't mind me asking, TSquare, what is the reason for the military training you to carry a sidearm with an empty chamber? I'm thinking that's a hold over from days passed (where it wasn't safe to carry an autoloader with a round in the chamber), but I could be wrong. Would the same idea also apply to open bolt machine guns and closed bolt rifles?
