I've come to a fork in the road and not sure which way to take. I've fixed the minor things wrong with my truck (with a lot of help from yall) and its running and driving great. I love my truck...BUT, it's not quite perfect in every way. See, out where I live there s not a whole lot of off-road stuff, except good ol Texas mud, but there are a lot of windy, twisty roads that are fun to scoot around. Here's my dilemma; My truck handles s-curves and hairpin and a lot of road stuff VERY well for a truck. I raced a guy who had a newer Kia optima down some roads (not drag raced, but road raced (super deserted road, so relatively safe)) and I kept up, didnt gain or lose any distance. But, when I do stuff around my house such as hauling fire wood, moving tools and stuff around my property, and driving on some of the TERRIBLE roads out here, my truck gets stuck nearly 80% of the time. Granted, I'm on street tires and have an open diff. I could easily benefit from both a lift and a drop, and they're basically the same cost. I would do a 3/4 drop with 275s, and a 6/4 lift with 33s. Now, I know 2wd isn't optimal for offroading, but anyone who says a 2wd can't do off-road needs to speak to Mr. Undrstm8ed. I have a 2008 2.3l 5 speed, and an 8.8 with a limited slip and disc brakes is going to be a must do swap for either. Also, I know that some will suggest to keep it stock, and just put better tires on it, but that's just not the way I want to take my truck. I plan on having her for a while, and want to customize it to me. Thanks for the help!
