The most we use at home, in regards to pest control, are small plastic (closed with a small open end) ant traps. We haven't had any out for a while so, I don't think that's it. Anything like that we keep well out of her reach. Thanks for the link, I'm going to check that out. Sorry to hear that, NoPower. That's no good. I would love it if this turned out to be a simple food allergy. You'd see me jumping for joy. As of right now, however, I have no evidence to lead me to believe this is the cause. A couple things I'd like to toss out there that I hadn't considered last night. The weight she's lost has been over the course of about a year. Only in the recent two months has she lost any significant weight in a short period, about 5 or 6 pounds. Two months ago, I had her there at the vet for a checkup. This was mandatory so I could get her more flea and tick prevention pills. This was when we found out about the enzyme. Both a blood and urine sample were taken. He pointed out that on her lower back, she had two fat nodules/deposits there. He told me this was a good thing, and a sign of a healthy dog. So, whatever has happened is very recent. I called the vet's office and her doctor will be in tomorrow. I'll call back and get some advice.
