I use whichever one works at the moment! Sharpie cap works better then you guys might think for the really stubborn ones.

My good friend and trans builder in Colorado has a new toy, some sort of Ford scan tool that will program PATS keys.
I am headed to Colorado next week. While we are there I am going to replace a 5 speed transmission for a friend of mine (96 Ranger 4 banger we converted to 4.0 and 5 speed, his 5 speed took a crap! So in goes a 2005 M5OD-Hd) We will be doing this at my buddies shop since I now live 1300 miles away. Why is this relevant? Well because I will be taking the 98 5.0 PCM, the Sport trac pats module, pats key and ign lock cylinder so he can program the 01 ST key to work with the 98 5.0 PCM!! Cool eh?
This way no need to swap the door locks on the ST with the 98 explorer parts. So the sport trac one key will work with the 98 5.0 computer!

Progress on ST will be on hold until I get back from CO, labor day weekend work will resume.
