Call me retarded in the drag racing world but why is the belt driven pump on the drivers side plumbed into the valve cover (PCV)? Some sort of air circulation for the crankcase??? Some sort of oil pump?

Thank you. It means a lot. And that's a vacuum pump. It basically makes the rings seal better which makes more power.
