The browning 30-06 that I'm refering to is a hunting load. My Garand I'm sure can handle it with my adjustable gas plug, I would be paying out the nose for what'll be used as target ammo, as I don't hunt deer. Was at a few local gunshops today. Felt up a 686 6" and it was absolute heaven. Must have one. Felt a CZ SP101 and wow.... Very disappointed. Wanted the 75B model of this gun, and I have no plans of getting one now. The gun itself felt solid, but the thing unloaded weighed a significant amount more than what my 1911 fully loaded weighs. That's a lot for a doublestack 9mm. Not only that, but the serrations on it were knife-like. Was like trying to play tug-of-war with a cheese grater. At another gun store, I saw some enblocs loaded with what appeared to be M2 ball. Was certainly old ammo, whatever it was. The guy wanted $19 a piece for 'em! Good grief.
