Modern 30-06 and .308 are almost identical with their ability. Very good for deer and it can reach out there. 7mm Mag and 331 Lapua can reach a little further. Those can take down any game in North America. The 300BLK can put down hogs and deer but you will need to have 130gr to 140gr bullets as they are in the optimal weight range to create the most power with a 300BLK. You are also not going to be able to go beyond 125 yards with a hunting round in 300BLK as it looses a lot of power at that distance.

If you are going to go suppressed 300 BLK you need to be reloading. For suppressed you also want to keep the barrel at least 9" and no more than 14" with a 10:1 twist with an adjustable gas block (this will drop you effective range with a shorter barrel). Tuning a bullet to a gun will give you a consistency that you can't get with factory ammo unless you stick to one match grade variety. The 300BLK is one of the few rifle calibers that is extremely versatile.  A 110gr JRN can be safely loaded to 2400fps out of it and with a change of powder it can be shot at 105fps for a sub-sonic load. A 200gr JRN is easier to get good sub sonic loads but with CFE BLK powder it can make 1650fps.

I built a 10.5" barrel AR pistol 6 years ago and ended up selling it to my brother-in-law. He paid the tax and put a can on it. He uses it for varmint hunting and hog hunting. If I was going to do it again I would build 2 uppers for an AR Pistol. One with a 9" barrel for suppressed shooting and a 18 or 20" bolt action for hunting.
