Yes, that is true.  By my somewhat snarky post, I was demonstrating that very fact.  Being treated like that by a company, large or small, is really no surprise because we have learned to accept the noncommittal attitude of those we give our hard-earned cash to.  Manufacturers are the worst... my <2 year old Sony Bravia TV just died one night.  Sony, of course, was less than helpful or sympathetic.  Yeah, I could have it locally repaired, to the tune of $385 WITHOUT a guarantee that it would last.  'merica! (yeah, right)
