Well there many factors like stated above . That calculator above is awesome for comparison purposes. Been using that one myself for years ðŸ¼ . With that . I run 15's and 17's on my ranger . 17's are more so for the events . My 17's I run are a 45 series , which is 1” shorter then my 60 series 15” wheels out back . They do match the same height as my front 50 series 15's . Now my 17x8's  are stock mustang 5spokes of a mid 2000s stang. Never really looked up actual specs of those . But the do have a sunk in look to them fender wise  . My 15x10's are a 4.5” bs which has now pushed the wheel closer to the outer fender (flush)  . 
Here's a pic of a chart I use for converting bs to offset if you find wheels in metric spec or standard
