I do like Visors, mine is a Lund designed for the 4th Gen. Rangers, I too purchased one without lighting, I also purchased the newer style LED low profile Amber  lights, and mod'd the visor to fit the lights.
I used five lights but the number is up to the owner.  Mine are place similar to your center three and the outside two.
If interested I can get a picture or two of the Visors and lights.

My Tool Box, which is sitting in the barn at the moment, is a low profile, picked for its ability to fit in the Short bed steppie from the Cab end to the wheel wells.
It has a lot of room, but I would have to measure it to see just how it fit the height !  It always carried all of the off-road tools and needed items for Trail Riding... !

Always good to see ideas from other Ranger Owners, a lot which over lap with ideas already in place and my list is long... has been since I purchased this one !
