CA and Denver Metro area are similar I know those two well. I am pretty sure he said he was in CA, in the great country of California you cannot use a 5.0 in a 2007 Ranger.
EDIT He is in Washington near Seattle....dang son you are only 3.5 hours from me. Bring me your 2007!! Ill convert it to a 5.0 :) Let me look into Washington emissions laws for you
Washington is pretty strict alot of CA rules have been adopted up this far North...lets do some digging.

Now if emissions is not a concern I say LETS DO THIS
2007 will need some serious customization to talk to the 5.0 drivetrain, working backwards in many aspects so to speak....they are wired differently but at the end of the day its still a 98+ ranger so a 5.0L can go right in....just need somebody who knows what they are looking at and why (Like me!!)
