explorer computer/ efi swap is pretty simple into 98+ Ranger, not too difficult into 83-95 Ranger either only like 16+ wires needed to make it run and talk to the truck Forget CARBS!!! EFI for the win, in fact OBDII and EFI with MAS and DIS!! 302, 306, 331, 347 can all run with an Explorer computer Trhe explorer computer wants to see the 4r70w trans, if the trans is not there then you need some PCM programming, not a huge deal these days but does add some $$$ to your project. Yes that is the ATK 302 we used in a 84 ranger project We mated it to a 4r70w automatic and a twin sticked Np205 You can mate yours to a 5 speed but the explorer PCM needs to be flashed to forget about the automatic, this is about $300-500 these days to have done Spec on the ATK gt40 is 365hp at the crank with 302 displacement You can easily get more power with more displacement, we wanted to keep some sort of mpg this truck is driven from CO to Yellowstone at least once a year. Highway it has seen 18 mpg but gets around 12-14 normally Last edited on Wed Jun 27th, 2018 05:13 pm by 410customs ____________________ I build custom RBV, specializing in drivetrain conversions, wiring, suspension and complete custom trucks |
