I don't have that problem. I have two of my son's high school buddies that contact me asking if they can come over and I supervise them doing maintenance/repairs to their vehicles. This has been going on for 7 years. Neither had a father that was mechanically inclined. I "supervised" a radiator, hose, thermostat, and water pump replacement on a 2000 Nissan Pathfinder last weekend. The water pump was leaking, it had the original hoses, and the radiator was full of crud after 220K miles. On the positive side I did end up with a bottle of 12 year old Spayside single malt Scotch for my supervision and use of my tools.
