Undrstm8ed, you clearly understand what is going on with the subscription service model. As you point out, follow the money trail and it will lead you to the answer and the question.
Once was an Apple user in the early days and couldn't afford to replace an ibook so I was introduced to the Windows platform. Didn't take long to understand it and been using it since 1998. Really don't have any complaints as it does what it needs to do.
