Everything I read said it was a backup warning for when the airbag light goes out. I'll run out and check if it comes on before starting the truck I have a 2000
This is true. You won't get rid of the 5x5 periodic beeping until the airbag light in the dash is enabled. After the warning light is working again, it will be on until all airbag issues are corrected - like the passenger airbag indicator light and any others.
