keep ranger ECU 98-99 should be identical in every way even going explorer to ranger AS LONG AS THEY BOTH have a single fuel line Also the Ranger is a automatic or 5 speed? Explorer was a auto? (assume most ex are auto) Let me know answers to above Yes I have dealt with this kind of thing before, several times I would plan to: Use your ranger 98 engine wiring harness replace the intake plenum O rings (at the very least) Check the camshaft synchronizer plug in make sure they are both the same wiring plug in strip the new expo engine down to the lower intake and install it in the truck then dress the engine up using your 98 ranger fuel rail, injectors, sensors, intake, plumbing, wiring etc should be a very straight forward conversion as long as both engine have return less fuel, otherwise you just have to swap fuel rails and possibly a couple of dash sensors Last edited on Wed May 23rd, 2018 09:35 pm by 410customs ____________________ I build custom RBV, specializing in drivetrain conversions, wiring, suspension and complete custom trucks |
