STP is basically kerosene and a few detergents - it won't hurt and may help a little. A better cleaner will have PEA in it. Those products are BG-44k (my favorite), Techron, or Redline Si-1. The problem is the companies are constantly reformulating their products so what works this year my not work next year.

I will put a bottle of BG-44k, Techron, or Redline Si-1 at every oil change. I haven't had any fuel related problems but this is something I do with all of my vehicles including the Harley and lawnmower.
