For comparison, here's the same part after being trimmed down and painted. 

The large drain plug is handy but the fill hole in the IRS cover should not be used to set the fluid height -  it's too low to provide adequate lube to the wheel bearings when used in a non-IRS application. Fortunately, the correct level can be set using the original fill plug on the diff housing instead.
