Well, I decided today is finally time to get an M1 Garand. I was at the surplus store and along with a couple other things, I bought a surplus M1 garand bayonet. I can get a James River Armory M14, 686, the romanian AK, and that henry big boy 357 any day of the week; provided I have the money for it. The M1s... not so much. I'm going to get my documents headed for the CMP on monday and join in on the Garand Collectors Association and then when my next paycheck rolls around, I'm getting a field grade M1. The other guns will take a back seat for a bit. Something I'm also considering buying is a 4x32 Trijicon ACOG. Would someone help me justify the price of that thing? I want one but I'm having trouble taking the plunge.
