Classic Monday. I rode the ElectraGlide this morning. I made it 2 miles down the road and radio shut off and caught a whiff of the magical electrical smoke. I pulled over and shut everything down and pulled the cover and hit the reset button. Everything started back up but the face of the radio flipped down like it was going to eject a CD.

The radio worked except the face was down and would not go back up. I spent lunch trying a few different things but no joy.

I stopped by Fry's on the way home and bought the cheapest Sony marine duty radio - $84 out the door. My radio kit will only work with a Sony.

I spent about 2 hours removing the old unit and installing and wiring it up. It passed the function test and I buttoned it up.

The old radio was 11 years old and was a standard unit. This marine unit is more water resistant and has a higher output.
